The Clearing Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIL) on July 16, 2026, notified regarding the Collateral Work-Flow Procedure for Designated Settlement Banks (DSB) and CSGL Account Holders (CAH).
The following has been stated:
• It has notified a revised Collateral Workflow Procedure for Designated Settlement Banks (DSBs), CSGL Account Holders (CAHs), Clearing Members, and Associate Members operating in the Securities Segment – Tri-Party Repo (TPR), effective August 17, 2026. The notification prescribes detailed procedures for deposit, withdrawal, substitution, and transfer of funds and securities, along with handling corporate actions related to TPR collateral and Default Fund contributions. It also introduces an efficient mechanism for Value Free Transfer (VFT) of securities between TPR Collateral and Default Fund, eliminating unnecessary movement of securities between members and CCIL.
• The revised workflow mandates that all collateral notices be routed through the Integrated Member Portal, with fallback email procedures during system outages. Securities contributions and withdrawals shall be processed through the RBI eKuber system using Value Free Transfer (VFT), while funds are settled through RTGS/Current Accounts maintained with Designated Settlement Banks.
• CCIL has also prescribed minimum cash collateral of ₹1 lakh, contribution and withdrawal denominations, cut-off timings, reporting requirements, and responsibilities of DSBs and CAHs for validating, authorizing, and confirming collateral transactions.
